“Don’t you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? But the things that come out of a person’s mouth comes from the heart and these defile them. For out of the heart come evil thoughts- murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. These are what defile a person.” – JESUS
This shows us how important it is to be very careful in our thoughts and words. Many of us have shared and read the message that “our thoughts become words, words become our behavior ,behavior becomes our habits and habits become our destiny.”
In Bible it’s written that “The tongue is a small part of our body, but it makes great boasts.Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire ,a world of evil among the parts of the body.It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness.Out of the same mouth comes praise and cursing. Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? Can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring bears fresh water.”
In proverbs 17:27 “He who has knowledge spares his words, And a man of understanding is of a calm spirit.”
Proverbs 8:6,”Hear, i will speak of excellent things;and the opening of my lips shall be right things. For my mouth shall speak truth;and wickedness is an abomination to my lips. All the words of my mouth are in righteousness. There is nothing froward or perverse in them”
Proverbs 10:19, “When words are many, transgression is not lacking, but whoever restrains his lips is prudent”.
Proverbs,15:23, “A man has joy by the answer of his mouth,And a word spoken in due season, how good it is! ”
Proverbs 25:11 “A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver”
There are so many sentences in Bible which reminds us about the importance of using words correctly. We should keep a balance in talking also, nothing too much and nothing too little. A person who speaks a lot, with no order of situations in his or her talk and the listener does not understand what he is up to, is foolishly wasting the time of both talker and the listener.
Unnecessary talk about all the events in life of his or her friend to another people will cause serious destruction of family life of that friend. The talker will be happy thinking that releasing whatever in his or her mind is a good relaxation technique. It’s a good relaxation technique if you tell your problems to your friends. But it’s a damaging technique to say everything about your friend or relative to another people.
We should respect others by giving importance to their life. Good words can work miracles. And bad words can destroy lives.
